This CD was recorded in the seminary Chapel of the Immaculate Conception in Gricigliano near Florence, Italy, in the spring of 2007 by a large group of seminarians of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest and the Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus. These young voices, which for the vast majority are under thirty years of age, are formed to chant the timeless contemplative melodies of the traditional Roman Liturgy in the spirit of the great Chant masters of the classic school of Solesmes. Hours of guided exercise in the fine technique of Chant are directed by the Choirmaster, Reverend Canon Wulfran Lebocq. However, Gregorian Chant is much more than just an art--essentially it is a prayer. Daily prayer and meditation at Holy Mass, in the canonical hours of the Divine Office, and during Eucharistic Adoration are the source of Chant's sublime transcendance, which the human voice alone will always be incapable to produce.

The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest is a Roman Catholic Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right which founded in 1990 by Monsignor Gilles Wach and Reverend Canon Philippe Mora in Gabon, Africa, where we still have missions. Today, the motherhouse and international seminary of the Institute is located in Gricigliano, in the Archdiocese of Florence, Italy.
